GC Dressing Sticks for Diamond/CBN Grinding Wheels
Engineered for Metal Bond and Electroplated diamond/CBN wheels. Our high-purity Green Silicon Carbide (GC) sticks feature superior hardness and aggressive cutting action. They effectively erode tough metal bonds and clean loaded electroplated wheels to restore peak cutting performance.
Material
Green Silicon Carbide (GC / SiC)
Grit Sizes
80# - 1800# (Full range available)
Best Compatibility
Metal Bond & Electroplated Diamond Wheels
Key Features
High Hardness, Aggressive Sharpening, Wear Resistance
Why Choose GC (Green Silicon Carbide) for Your Wheels?
Conditioning hard-bonded diamond wheels requires a dressing stick with exceptional hardness. A stick that is too soft (like white aluminum oxide) will simply glide over the surface without effective cleaning.
Our GC Dressing Sticks are characterized by their extreme hardness (Mohs 9.5) and sharp fracture habit. This makes them the ideal choice for two specific applications:
Metal Bond Wheels: Aggressively erodes the metal matrix to expose fresh diamond particles (Truing & Dressing).
Electroplated Wheels: Effectively knocks off sticky debris and loading from the single-layer diamond surface without damaging the nickel plating (Cleaning/Sticking).
Key Benefits
Aggressive Cutting Power: Designed to cut into hard metal binders that softer abrasives cannot penetrate.
Restore Exposure: Specifically engineered to remove the bond material surrounding the diamond grits, ensuring the wheel feels “sharp” and cuts freely.
Extended Durability: GC is more wear-resistant than WA, making it more economical for dressing hard-bonded wheels.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Q: Can I use this GC stick on Electroplated wheels? A: Yes. It is excellent for cleaning loaded electroplated wheels. However, since electroplated wheels have only a single layer of diamond, use a light hand (gentle pressure) to remove the debris without stripping the diamond layer.
Q: Can I use this on Resin Bond wheels? A: Use with caution. Because GC is very hard and sharp, it can be too aggressive for delicate Resin Bond wheels. For Resin Bond, we strongly recommend our softer WA (White Aluminum Oxide) sticks for a gentler dressing action.
Q: How do I use the dressing stick correctly? A: Ensure the diamond wheel is running at operating speed. Saturate the stick in coolant and apply it firmly to the wheel face. Traverse across the entire width until the wheel surface looks clean and the cutting performance is restored.
